Competition June 14th Kennick Bank

Today saw our first competition at Kennick since the return to fishing a few weeks ago.

All competitors followed guidelines issued by Angling Trust, SW Lakes and KFFA Club committee.

10 anglers made the trip for Round 4 of the Snowbee Top Rod on a mostly sunny day with SSW wind with temperature at 18 degs.

Fish were taken in all areas of the lake, with Forest Bay, Clampitts and Smithacott area producing the best bags.

Best flies were, Kennick Killer, Blobs, Diawl Bachs, Damsels and Boobies.

10 anglers caught 35 fish for a bag weight of 80LBS .5OZ.

Average catch was 3.5 and average weight was 2.28LBS.

5 fish caught were over 3LBS. Andy Watson of Bovey Tracey caught the biggest of the day at 3LBS 3OZ.

Due to social distancing picture of winner only and John Hern won the raffle draw prize.
