Siblyback Snowbee Teams of 4 April 25th

Siblyback 4-man Spring ‘Snowbee Floating Line’ Competition

33 anglers, 8 full teams and one incomplete team, fished the Annual Snowbee floating line match at Siblyback on Sunday 25 April. The lake looked in supreme condition upon arrival and did not disappoint with a good high water level and very clear. The weather turned out very sunny all day with a strong south easterly wind. This proved decidedly testing casting conditions, especially as the day progressed and as the fish, in the shallows especially, moved further off shore proving more difficult to reach. Most anglers caught well however and returning a catch rate of over 4 fish per person. That did include some smaller fish inevitably, but plenty of them and the average size was still around 1.25lbs with several over 2lbs. The best fish of the day at 3lbs 8ozs, was a rainbow which fell to Rod Wevill earning the prize of top fish for the day. The match was fished in great spirit throughout, with everybody obviously keen to get out after the long lockdown. Despite there being many visitors to the water besides the anglers along the shores and walkways as well, everybody tolerated and respected one another too, which was a delight to see and enjoyable for everybody present and experiencing this delightful facility on the day. Roadford Lake Café kindly organised excellent, and much needed, refreshments for competitors at the end of the match, which was won by the Innis Fishery Team with 23 fish caught of a possible 24, with a total bag weight of 30lbs 3.5ozs. 2nd were Kennick A, with 21 fish for 25lbs 10.5ozs, 3rd Kennick B, also with 21 fish and a total bag weight of 23lbs 10.5oz, 4th Kennick C 19 fish 21lbs 3.5oz.

Prizes of Snowbee products and vouchers were shared between the top three teams, best fish and consolation random prize draw (for any competitor not in top 3 teams but who did catch fish on the day), plus day tickets to members of the winning team and for best fish of the day.
