Snowbee Top Rod Competition August 31st - Clatworthy Bank

After the summer break we were back at Clatworthy, high up in the Brendon Hills, near Wiveliscombe for Round 7 of the Snowbee Top Rod Competition.

After breakfast at Brewers Fayre in Exeter on the way we arrived at the lake to see it was pretty low and had an algal bloom as the water was like a green soup.

Weather was sunshine and showers with a temperature of 18 degrees and a moderate Southerly wind.

The low water made for some very tricky fishing on the bank with boot sticking mud and very slippery conditions.

Everyones gear needed a good wash at the end of the day.

Anglers fished along the lodge bank from the steep bank at the dam right around to Syndercombe.

We met a group of 4 from Bideford Fly Fishing Club who also caught a few fish.

11 anglers made the trip and caught a total of 16 fish.

1 angler caught their 5 fish limit.

4 anglers failed to catch.
