Snowbee Top Rod Competition July 11th - Clatworthy Boat

Round 5 of the Snowbee Top Rod was back at Clatworthy high up on the Brendon Hills near Wiveliscombe.


Weather was dry with light variable winds to start with with rain expected after lunch, from 1400 the rain was heavy for the rest of the day!


Fish were free rising in all areas of the reservoir and were mostly caught on Floating or Intermediate lines with small nymphs, blobs and beaded lures.


Despite the wet weather 18 anglers made the trip and caught a bag of 38 fish for 97lbs 3oz.


Average catch was 2.11


Average weight was 2.55lbs


Best fish of the day was 3lbs 6oz caught by Alex Venn and Alec Hoare.


4 anglers failed to catch.

Gerry Scutt of Brixham won the raffle draw prize and Danny Ford Clatworthy Ranger for Wessex Water gave a day ticket as an extra prize which Chris Bolt of Kingsteignton won.
