Snowbee Top Rod Competition June 12th - Kennick Bank

Round 5 of the Snowbee Top Rod was at Kennick Reservoir today on the edge of Dartmoor.


Weather was mainly sunny with a few clouds with a temperature of 18 degrees and a moderate NW wind.


The Reservoir is currently 80% full so all areas of the water were accessible.


We met at the lodge for 0800-0830 for check in and registration, anglers were able to walk on to the reservoir at 0900 then fish from 0930-1630 with the weigh in at 1700.


11 anglers caught 49 fish for a bag weight of 94lbs 1oz.


Average catch 4.45


Average weight 1.92lbs


Best fish of the day were 3lbs 3oz caught by Chris Bolt of Kingsteignton and 3lb by John Hern of Exeter.


9 anglers caught their 5 fish bag limit.


Fish were caught by the lodge, under the pines, the Narrows, Oaktree point and Clampitts.


Best tactics were Floating line with a weighted Damsel Nymph or Nomad with Diawl bachs and Beetle patterns and an intermediate line with Blobs.
