Round 1 of the Snowbee Top Rod Competition was at Kennick today.
Following the wind and rain of yesterday, we were lucky with lighter Northerly winds and a just a shower that came through during the morning. Temperature was a chilly 7 degrees but when the sun came out, it felt a touch warmer despite the Northerly winds.
13 anglers made the trip and were treated to Bacon Rolls on arrival from Tom Hendy, this made up for losing an hours sleep last night with the clocks changing.
Fish were mostly caught on the West Bank from the Pines through the Narrows to the Causeway.
Best flies were Black Lures and Hot Head Damsels fished on a floating or intermediate line.
13 anglers caught 46 fish for a bag weight of 77lbs 9oz.
There were 7 full bags and 1 angler failed to catch.
