Snowbee Top Rod Competition May 1st - Kennick Bank

Round 3 of the Snowbee Top Rod was at Kennick today on the edge of Dartmoor.


Weather from the start was cloudy wet with light rain which carried on and off all day, temperature was around 13 degrees with a light SE wind.


We had our best turnout of the year so far with 18 anglers fishing.


We met at the lodge for 0800-0830 for check in and registration, anglers were able to walk on to the reservoir at 0900 and then fish from 0930-1630 with the weigh in at 1700.


18 anglers caught 61 fish for a bag weight of 98lbs 8oz.


10 anglers caught their 5 fish limit and 4 anglers failed to catch.


Average catch 3.38


Average weight 1.6lbs


Best fish of the day was 2lbs 11.5oz caught by Jeremy Summers of Sidmouth.


Best flies were Damsels, Diawl bachs and Nomads fished on either a floating line or intermediate, fish were caught in all areas of the reservoir.
