Snowbee Top Rod Competition May 4th - Blagdon Boats

Round 4 of the Snowbee Top Rod Competition was at Blagdon on the edge of the Mendip Hills near Bristol.

Weather was generally cloudy with sunny spells and a moderate North Easterly wind with a temperature around 15 degrees.

We had a great turnout today with 19 anglers making the trip for the annual event in Bristol where the " Fred Pike Cup" was today's prize.

We were met by Rangers as we arrived to sort the boats and again by Peter who helped the boats back in at 1700.

It was a tough day out on the water and the fish that were caught came up at the top end of the lake using small nymphs and dries on a floating line or midge tips fished slowly.

19 anglers caught just 17 fish for a bag weight of 58lbs 10oz

9 anglers failed to catch.
