Snowbee Top Rod Competition October 1st - Wimbleball Boats

Round 8 was the final event of the Snowbee Top Rod 2023 event and was back at Wimbleball high on Exmoor near Brompton Regis.

For the first day of October, we had a lovely mild day with temps up to 19 degrees, light winds and it was dry all day.

13 made the trip and arrived at the boat dock by 0830 having had a breakfast stop at Brewers Fayre in Exeter on the way.

We were met at the boat dock by Mark Underhill and we were on the water by 0930.

Just before we set off, we remembered Bill Hande and Trevor Telling who we recently lost with 2 minutes silence as the boats congregated just off the boat dock.

We then fished in all areas of the reservoir, with fish caught at Bessoms, Cow Moor and the Upton Arm.

Best tactics were Intermediate DI3 and DI5 lines with Nomads, Snakes and Boobies.

13 anglers caught 53 fish for a bag weight of 124lbs

10 anglers caught their 5 fish limit.

Some anglers had caught their fish by lunch time and enjoyed a roast lunch at The George Inn in Brompton Regis, thanks to Trudi and the team for a great Roast lunch and a couple of ales!

Thanks to Mark and Trudi for some great fishing at Wimbleball in 2023 and see you next year.
