Round 10 was the final heat of the Snowbee Top Rod 2021 competition and was back at Wimbleball high on Exmoor near Brompton Regis.
We all had an extra hour in bed as the clocks went back and with the heavy rain on the drive up, were all glad it had gone through by the time the boats went out.
Weather on arrival was sunny with a moderate to strong SW wind and 13 degrees and the boats were only just permitted to be out. Throughout the day heavy showers came through with a drop in temperature and the wind picked up slightly as the day went on.
15 anglers made the trip and caught 32 fish for a bag weight of 112lbs 5.5oz
Average catch 2.13
Average weight 3.5lbs
Best fish of the day was 5lbs 4oz caught by John Hern of Exeter and Stuart Robinson of Sidmouth 4lbs 10oz with another 8 fish over 4lbs.
Best flies were Cats Whiskers, Blobs and Snakes fished on an intermediate or DI3 line.
Fish were mostly caught in the Ruggs and Bessoms area of the reservoir.
