Round 7 of the Snowbee Top Rod was at Wimbleball Lake high up on Exmoor near Brompton Regis.
Weather conditions were not looking good for our day but regular checking of the weather forecast and wind app gave us the go ahead with winds not expected to gust more than 20mph.
Due to extreme drought conditions the level of the water was down to just 30% with many exposed areas of the banks where we normally fish. The boat dock had been moved to a new site due to the main one being high and dry.
We were lucky with the weather as the winds were mainly light and variable with a temp of 18 degrees and it stayed dry until we started the drive home so waterproofs didn't get wet!
Best area was the Dam location and best tactics were Intermediate and DI5 lines with mini lures.
14 anglers made the trip and all boats were out by 0930, we fished until 1630 with the weigh in at 1700.
14 anglers caught 20 fish for a bag weight of 45lbs 13oz.
Average catch 1.43
